Disaster First Day of Vacation

Yesterday began our adventure on Oahu. We rented scooters for the week because Mats sister doesn't have a car to get around. We had to drive the scooter from Waikiki to Waipahu which is 17 miles. That's pretty far drive on scooters at only go 45 max and cannot go on the H1, H2, or H3.

It took me a bit to get used the scooter. I'm a nervous person by nature so I was shaking the first like 5 miles but after that I kind of liked driving it.

Then when we were about 10 minutes from the apartment disaster struck. Mat over corrected his scooter and flipped it. I screamed his name (which I don't remember doing) and basically jumped off of my scooter. As soon as he got up he said, "I broke my ankle!".

Both Mat and I had our first ride in an ambulance yesterday. Not what I was expecting on our first day in Oahu. Now we thought he was just going to have to get a cast with crutches, but no he had to get surgery to put a rod in his leg. Holy shit, a rod in his leg!

The surgery went great and now we just have to wait to hear from PT about how much weight he can put on it. That will dictate if he needs a wheelchair, crutches, or my personal favorite, a walker.

Thank God for him only hurting his leg, having a great hospital, and great doctors.

He biggest silver lining is that he doesn't want a motorcycle anymore. Right now we are just watching tv in his room waiting for his pain meds to kick in. Here's to hoping he can leave tomorrow.

Peace out cub scouts.

Been a while...

It has been a while since I last posted on here. I haven't had time to do any DIYs due being crazy busy at work then coming home and wanting to relax.

I am most excited for next Friday. I am going to Hawaii!!! Ahh!! I'm so excited it will be my first flying vacation!! I have only flown one other time for a business trip at the beginning of the month. That was only an hour long so it kind of felt like a roll at coaster ride. This time it is 6 hour flight to Las Vegas then another 6 hour flight to Honolulu.

We are leaving at like 8 pm so I'm definitely going to try to sleep on the plane.

I definitely want to vlog/blog the trip. I haven't really done that before, but I thing it will be fun! I do have a YouTube channel that I've never posted on so I might possibly put up a video every day of vacation if I remember.

Well hopefully I will post on here while I'm gone and write about my adventure.
Peace out cub scouts ✌

DIY•Painted Mugs

I am so happy. As I have already said my sharpies came on Saturday morning! I had a ball the rest of the day. I dragged my boyfriend to go to Target with me and buy all the drinkware! Then I scoured the Internet (a.k.a. Pinterest) to find an inspiration for the designs. We got home at about 3 and I didn't look at the clock again until about 11. I love decorating!

I haven't baked them yet. But according to Pinterest I should let them set for 48-72 hours, put them in a cold oven, set to 425 degrees, bake for an hour, and then leave it in the oven until completely cooled. Since I just decorated these yesterday I am going to wait til tomorrow after work to put them in the oven. I have tried Sharpie mugs before with sharpie pens and it never stays on the mug. So I am hoping that these paint pens work because if they do I am going to go paint pen crazy!! Everything I own will have at least a dot of Sharpie paint pen on it!!

My first mug was a glass mug I decorated with pink and white mandalas. Now that it's done I'm not really a fan, but since the paint doesn't come off I'm stuck with it.

The second one I wanted to make for me to bring to the office. I love Alice in Wonderland so of course I had to make the cute glass mug with "Drink Me" on the side.

Since Father's Day is in June, I wanted to make my dad a mug. So of course my go to present for my dad is either Star Wars or the Bruins. So I make him a Star Wars mug.

I made four more mugs that I love! One looks likes Kate spade mug, another looks like tye dye, one looks kind of like a basket weave (not really), a silver one has mermaid scales, and then of course I had to have a mug with a Doctor Who Quote.

The tye dye mug

The "Basket Weave" mug

The silver mermaid mug

Holiday Weekend

So this weekend in Memorial Day and I get a 3 day day weekend! Woo! My boss also let us out at noon today so it feels like a 4 day weekend. I am trying to figure out what my next project is. I really wanted to design some different mugs, but the oil based sharpies I ordered have been delayed so that might be while. I'll have to go shopping at a craft store so an idea will spark.

DIY•Wooden Initials

So I started my first project today. I wanted to start off with a simple DIY that is a cute decorations. You probably guessed from the title that it is wooden initials. D is my first initial of my first name and M is my boyfriends first initial of his  first name.

I am hoping to hang these in the bedroom on the wall behind our bed. Most of our furniture is black or white in our bedroom so I thought I would make his black and mine white. I'm adding  buttons to make it a little more interesting. I was supposed to have bought a pack of completely black buttons, but apparently I dropped them somewhere in Walmart and didn't notice.

I like how they came out, but with any project I do I think I could do more. When I wake up tomorrow I might add some more buttons or color. I can't stop tampering with things even when they are  done.

I tried to be cool and take some "artsy" photos. I think they came out well enough.

I had fun! Onto the next DIY!!

Just the Beginning

Hello! This is the beginning of my journey with diys. I have always been obsessed with crafts and fun projects I could do. I am going to chronicle my journey of different projects I find on Pinterest, others I find on the Internet, or things I come up with from my brain. Down the line I would love to have suggestions as to what I should do! Let's start DIYing!
